Thousands of scientists - armed with millions of dollars in grants, laboratories filled with the latest in high-technology instrumentation, and minds carefully reshaped by our finest educational institutions - are finally beginning to achieve something like the wisdom of my Grandmother, who once told me, "I don't care what anyone says.
